Polyester
buttons show many interesting surface effects. Made from
sheet or rod, they are shaped by turning in a lathe, and that can
limit the design.
ABS Plated buttons are
injection moulded and so can be made to almost any shape. The
plastic is a special electro-plating grade delivering a finish as
good as metal but without the weight problem that cuts the sewing
thread.
Imitation Pearl is a
plastic made to look as close to a pearl finish as possible.
Natural buttons are
made from shells of all kinds, wood, coconut, bone, horn and a
variety of other suitable materials.
Corozzo
is also a natural material that is very beautiful.
